Maintenance Technician

Description
· Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment. · Identify (potential) problems affecting current or future performance. · Present findings to customers. · Complete approved repairs/improvements in a timely manner. · Collect any payments as needed.

Reporting Relationships
· Reports to Service Manager
· No supervisory responsibilities

Hours & Working Conditions
· Average 40 hours per week (typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays)
· Overtime as required
· May work outside, in crawlspaces, and attics
· Lifting and physical exertion required

Duties and Responsibilities
· Follow defined maintenance procedures for HVAC/R equipment
· Identify potential problems during maintenance that might affect current or future system performance
· Present findings and options to customers, providing advise as needed/requested
· Complete approved repairs, improvements, or installations within industry standard hours per repair pricing guide
· Clean equipment/work area
· Ensure complete customer satisfaction upon completion of work
· Complete all paperwork required by management
· Collect for work performed if applicable
· Maintain assigned inventory
· Keep assigned vehicle organized and clean
· Track vehicle maintenance and alert management when maintenance is necessary
· Contact the office following the completion of each call, providing requested information regarding the work completed, and receiving dispatch instructions for the next call
· Provide customers with information and pricing on service agreements, accessories, and other comfort improvements
· Provide customers with information on new equipment when existing equipment exceeds 10 years of age or is in generally poor condition
· Pick up parts from supply houses/office and deliver to technicians in the field as needed
· Perform/assist with equipment installations if needed
· Perform/assist with service/repair work if needed
· Identify and suggest opportunities for quality and cost improvements
· Other duties as needed

Job Requirements
· Universal EPA certification
· Ability to lift and carry hermetic compressors up to five ton capacity
· Valid drivers license
· Clean driving and criminal records as required by state laws for home service companies and by company insurance carrier(s)
· Ability to follow maintenance procedures and perform maintenance on HVAC/R equipment
Standard technician tools
· NATE certification preferred but not mandatory
· Neat, clean, professional appearance
